  1. Thinner strings will "oscillate" more as far as I understand so you might need to raise the action if your get fret buzz as a result. I play a lot of barre chords. Higher gauge strings are my preference as they allow me to set the action lower, making it easier to fret. The only benefit of thinner strings in my experience is that bends and vibrato get a lot easier on the hand.

"Sunny" is a soul jazz song written by Bobby Hebb in 1963. It is one of the most performed and recorded popular songs, with hundreds of versions released. BMI rates "Sunny" #25 in its "Top 100 songs of the century".[1] It is also known by its first line: "Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain".[2] Credit for this Lead Sheet; Frank Vignola (From the Truefire "Jazz Studio" ) My recording of this song; Tip on playing this song; It's all about the rhythm! Listen to the original version on YouTube and the many other recordings by various artists. The melody is actually quite simple, based on the Am Pentatonic Scale, played in the 5th position. Have fun with it! Neil

  3. I have been re-using the L&M course booklet to learn to read music in 5th position. It's been a great resource for that purpose. I had completed most of the chapters several years ago.
