About Me
Started guitar in 1953. Took lessons for 2 years, but was told my fingers were too short and there wasn't the encouragement that Steve gives us. I tried Mel Bays program on my own, but the horrible structures in the books confirmed the short fingers. I did try again in 1958 for a year. The instructor had written his own book and I couldn't transfer it to the "Real World" ... plus I was told again I had too short of fingers. Just before I retired I started comparing my hand to guitarist I would meet ... like Thom Bresh. He just said go do. I found Steves L&M and his comments about stretching your hand and fingers and I have been hooked ever since. With age I find the guitar to be great to challenge the mind along with the physical attribute for old age sore hands. The thing that is neat is that I have gone back to all my old lesson books and whiz through the things that were taking me weeks to complete.
