Started playing when I was about 12.  Took lessons for 1 year, but have played by ear ever since.  Dabbled in a band for a while as a teenager.  Since then I have mostly either jammed with friends or played along with records.  I got involved with a guitar orchestra a couple of years ago which forced me to learn tablature, but mostly still play by ear.  I own several guitars, both acoustic and electric and try to practice a few times each week.  I regularly review on line techniques to refine my playing.  So I have been playing for 60+ years, consider myself to be at an advanced intermediate level (or at least the orchestra thinks so).  Current interests are blues and classic rock and folk/country rock music.
