I am in my mid 50’s and decided to finally make the disciplined effort to learn how to play guitar past the three Blues riffs I learned in 7th grade. I have tried Mel Bay’s modern guitar method but got bogged down. I purchased Learn and Master Guitar with the CD’s and DVD’s. I have been spending a lot of time on 5 and 6 string barre chords. I have been trying to learn for 11 months now. I am pretty comfortable with the cowboy chords. I definitely need more work in a lot of areas, especially strum patterns. I tried the Simply Guitar app and don’t recommend it at all.
