Capo and scales

I am currently working on transposing keys by using a capo and I'm trying to understand how this would relate to scales.
I understand that if I capo at the 2nd fret and play a G chord that the chord is actually an A cord. Now given that the actual chord is an A but the cord shape used is a G, which scale would be used for solos, the G maj scale or the A maj scale?
