Hi everyone,
I posted a new music video entitled, The Life In The Mirror. I’ve embedded it below. All guitar parts written and recorded by yours truly. Drums and piano arranged in GarageBand.
Also, not as a self promotion...but my song Separation Anxiety is on Spotify and iTunes! It’s a bit surreal to hear oneself on such a platform. Just thought I’d share!

Hey all, LPfreakMatt here...I’m still alive! (Remember me?)
Life required some rearranging of priorities, but now, isolation with nothing better to do has given me a chance to check back in. Hopefully you’ll see me a little more around here.
If you’re bored, check out something I put together recently. Hopefully it gives you a brief distraction from the troubles at hand. I call it, ‘Seperation Anxiety’, something I think we all are feeling to some degree, whether its from our jobs, our hobbies, or even friends and family. Hang in there, we’ll all get through this.
Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

The Pros: Soloing Outside The Box
in Guitar Playing & Technique
Posted
Came across a fascinating video demonstrating some stellar, 'outside the box' playing. Joe Bonamassa, Tommy Emmanuel and Josh Smith. All three bring more than just scales and bends to their soloes. Its really a great example of how to think beyond just the notes, and how to approach the notes.
Smith plays some blazing licks, but the notes are clear and fit perfectly. Emmanuel then demonstrates that soloes don't have to just be notes and scales. And then Bonamassa displays how volume dynamics and how you approach the note can give a unique and memorable take.
Enjoy!
