Although I haven't been playing guitar for the last couple of years I knew that if I ever travelled to Nashville I would have to visit that holy grail of guitar shops... Gruhn Guitars. Well this week I was in Nashville for a convention and made the trek to Gruhn's shop.  Well not only did I get to have a sit down with George Gruhn himself and meet Greg Voros but guess who walked into the shop... Vince Gill. Well what a gentleman he is... and just a regular guy. You would never know he was a country music star and a member of the Eagles.  Not only did he sign a Gruhn's t-shirt for me (as did George) but he also played guitar for me.

I have been looking for something to inspire me to reconnect with my guitars. Perhaps even return to my Learn and Master guitar course (I stopped at session 17... it was like I walked into a wall at no.17!) Well my visit to Gruhn's may just be the inspiration I was looking for.  I have attached a photo of Vince playing for George and myself.

@roofman  What a terrific "re-introduction" into our Guitar Gathering family!  I hope you do "pick it up again " and resume your learning on the LMG program, participate with us here, and on Live Lessons.

(ps I know what you mean about S17. Not a lot of people get there, and the course is much more "self directed" at this level )

Regards ; Neil

(pps.. good to have another fellow Canadian GTA member on board ?

As I said, what a fun experience that had to be.  I've been fortunate to meet several guitar heroes and what is very remarkable is how humble and "regular" they are:  Eric Gales, Walter Trout,  Sonny Landreth, Ana Popavec, Kirk Fletcher, and others I'm forgetting.  Debbie Davies is Hall of Fame Blues guitarist and the sweetest lady you will ever meet. I've yet to meet someone that I would call a "jerk".  I posted on here that I met Mike Zito at a show in Lincoln.  During the conversation it came up that I was trying to learn guitar.  He gave me his phone number and told me to call whenever I got stuck!
