I looked at a lot of different guitars before I made my purchase. I even purchased a pretty nice PRS P20E acoustic and returned it because I didn't like the cheap plastic tuners. I wanted to add single coil sound, so I finally decided to just purchase a Fender Player Stratocaster. Of course, I couldn't resist going with the HSS model to add a humbucker. The guitar is beautiful and well put together. I am impressed with this MIM Strat. I was shocked that it didn't even come with a gig bag, but I added a nice modern Fender composite case.

Great choice.   I've been considering one of the Player Series Telecasters and it's good to hear yourd positive opinion of Fender's MIM quality.    It's a shame that all the guitar manufacturers are eliminating or downgrading their bags and cases as cost saving measures, but as long as the quality of the guitar doesn't suffer I suppose that is a small price to pay.

@Gary Nelson I think you would be very satisfied with a Player Tele. If I had my way I would buy a USA model, but we are talking several hundred dollars more and then you have to get even more expensive to get a case included.

Nice addition Randy, looking good! Congrats . I like the idea of an SSH as an alternative. I have a Roadworn SSS Fender, MIM, which is my take-out-of-town vacation guitar. Looks like its been through the fights, and can still take a beating.
