so I see @RichLich posting for the first time in the topics and in the Chat area.

and I fired up my DAW for the first time in a very long time..  (How do I use this thing??)

got me thinking about this forum and how many features it has and does everyone know what it has and can do.

when we 'beta' tested last year, we tested all the features and Steve worked out the bugs with us.

all this got me to thinking.. how many people really know what it can do?

how many people use say.. Sticky Notes ?? Steve does with his adverts for things.. but we can too.

plus a host of many other things, I can't even remember.

so I wonder how useful a YouTube type video series say only a couple minutes in length each to teach the features found in this forum??

I think some 'helpful tips' videos would be great!

Even though I have been here since the beta testing, there are things I am sure I've forgotten, lol! (I still have issues trying to embed links in posts and such... things I don't do often) :)

And some basic tutorials may help folks get comfortable using the forum. We have quite a variety of skill level both on guitar and in the IT sense as well!

Good idea Doug! :)

I'm with K9-  A TAB at the top with little drop down menu for different tutorials of "How To's" would be a lot of help. I don't post a lot and I have to stop and figure out everything from scratch again, plus my memory is slipping more than a 200,000 mile clutch!

So @Eracer_Team-DougH, @K9kaos, and @Popeye give me some more specific ideas on this.  I make no promises.  But what features?  Do we want to come up with a list of features and then a quick video "how-to" of each?  Or one overall introductory video that is available to all but might be especially helpful to each new member?

What other thoughts do you have on this?

I have "screen grab" software that should make the process not too difficult or daunting.  As always it's a matter of time availability.

But I'd like some more focused suggestions.

A quick video of how to set up your profile and the account settings section might be helpful to new users.

How to add things like the signatures under posts, profile pics, the member map, etc...

I'll give I some more thought for other specifics....  :)

I had forgotten about this.  I will try and work on it.
