If you saw my post on my N(est)GD you know I am now a Tele guy.  And you also know that I have been a loyal PRS guy up until then,  Did I do things backward?  😏  That wouldn't be new process for me.  But I am liking the Tele and, of course, Steve showing up for my lesson with his Tele (Brent Mason signature Tele style) may have had some influence on me before my visit to the guitar store!!  🤣

And whatever cliche you want to use, "Desert Island Guitar" or whatever, is a Tele the  all around one guitar you should own?  If you can only have one guitar.............well, you know.

Josh Smith makes his point for just this thought.  He has always, at least as long as I can remember been a Tele guy although I have seen him using the Strat.
Interesting video:

It’s interesting how our musical preferences drift over time. My first really nice guitar was PRS C22 and  Martin 000 that I purchased to inspire me to begin my voyage through the L@M Guitar course.  Along the way , I acquired a couple Fender strats, a couple more PRS’s, then discovered the Tele. I played them primarily from then on for several years, selling my first PRS along the way. The other guitars hung out in their cases. Then last summer, I began playing the PRS’s exclusively in all my gigs again and the Teles have languished. That said, I too love my Teles and have no plans to ever part with them. They are incredibly durable and versatile.

You guys are starting to inspire me!   I don't have a Tele, but I'm starting to get the bug.     And of course, Steve using his Brent Mason tele on the Live Lesson last night and stating that it was the one guitar that he most often used when playing live, just adds more fuel to the fire!

Steve’s guitar was manufactured by Valley Arts, no longer in production. Fender has reintroduced this Brent Mason guitar, which appears identical to the Valley Arts, with a B Bender . A little on the expensive side, nearly $2900.

I understand Marty Stuart to say he owns and plays a B-Bender that was previously owned by the Byrds and is in the recording of Turn, Turn, Turn.

@gotto - Greg, you are right.   That Fender Brent Mason would be nice, but I'm not quite ready for that investment.    Fender also makes a Nashville edition that is in their Player series that retails for $1129.    Not quite the same - no humbucker and no B Bender, but similar.    I am actually thinking about finding one that needs some love, and upgrading with new pickups, pots, etc.   I need a tinker toy to keep me out of trouble.
