I have used some you tube videos from Justin, Marty or Guitar Habits to help learn a particular song I am trying to learn. I do not subscribe to any of their courses. The L&M course and Steve's add-ons are more than enough to get me to where I want to go.

I would echo these remarks saying that I'm sure most members are familiar with most of these guitar gurus's on YouTube (I've watched hundreds of guitar videos there). But as for my main focus i have stuck to Steve Krenz's  LMG course , supplemented with Fretboard Workouts,  and found it to be more than enough for general learning purposes. When one tries to go in several directions at once, it's very hard to measure your progress and actually accomplish much.

I’ve been using courses by Griff Hamlin, TrueFire and Richie Zellon. I respect the reasoning behind sticking to a core instruction, but eventually one may want to expand one’s horizons. Granted, it does require the effort of charting one’s own plan or learning path, but I’m okay with that. On the other hand, there could be other reasons, too. For instance, I found that Steve's Blues course covered a lot of ground, but I needed more spoon feeding so I switched to Griff's BGU. Griff has a series of courses tailored to blues and he touches on details one can probably only get through private one-on-one sessions. For someone like me who relies on video and textbook courses only, more explanation was/is necessary.

Yes, I have heard of and visited most of those sites. There is so much to learn and always some shiny new learning material to distract me. As Neil said, when I try to use too many resources at once, I don't accomplish much (except for raising my frustration level).

I cannot watch any screen while I'm working on improving my guitar skills.  I find it too distracting.  I will watch and review the "visual" lesson; then I will utilize the printed workouts with my guitar in hand.  When stumped, I will review the "visual" again in that specific area.

I am one with "too many irons in the fire" overall, but I like to focus on techniques and workouts that reinforce them.  Steve excels in that category for me.  I will say Steve's Finger-style course is one of the best I've worked on to date.  I also work on Tru-Fire acoustic blues courses and find them very rewarding.  I struggle when the Be Bop and Jazz element push them to levels of sophistication beyond my comfort level.

I can add GuitarZoom.com to the instruction list; however, my complaint is the bombardment of sales pitches can become extremely annoying.
