Many of the "core" members of  the Guitar Gathering family started out with Steve Krenz's program in either the original version, or the "Gibson's  Learn and Master Guitar " branded version.  I Know many still study using the program, but now that Steve and many of the members have moved on, it would be interesting to know how many are still using the program. Please let us know!

Using both the main course and the fingerstyle course (supplemented with a number of other exercises and activities to mix things up from day to day).

I am still using the main course, blues and song hits, along with other material directly related to the sessions in those courses.

Note on vote:  I keep Steve's L&M course materials around as reference and regularly pull out studies to refresh my mind and fingers.  I haven't officially finished; however, most of the material was completed along with progressing in the Fingerstyle course.  Jazz appears to be my kryptonite.  The Fretboard workouts have all been recent works in progress.   The Blues course has been the hardest to undertake, not for the difficulty, but the overall "vague" instruction I get from most blues oriented studies IMHO.

I am still using it, but it isn't my main focus. I am starting Steve's Blues course with many miles to go.

Let me get this correct.  You started L&MG 4 months ago and you are now in sessions 9&10?!?!?!?  Do you have any idea how depressed that makes me feel?  ???

Seriously, great progress.

I've been probably one of the slowest through LMG that hasn't quit, I'm on 12 yrs now and I have not completed (nor am I close) the course. ?

I found that depending on how much you played as a kid/teen is how fast you can get through the LMG course.

(Me,, not a lot as a kid/teen)

I guess technically I'm in session 10 working Travis and Connon in D, but I've dabbled in sessions 11, 13  and 15 already

I definitely don't spend as much time playing as I should..  maybe after I retire in a few years , cause with only government old age, I wont be going anywhere except to my music room.

I’m on break from the course. But will continue it. I stopped at barre chords due to tendinitis in both thumbs.  I also have to limit time with chords. But hopefully they will heal soon.

In the meantime I work on songs, in the advanced speed and agility course. And studying theory. Started the scale mastery this week. I use other sources as well.

If we had a " Tenacious Student" Award @Eracer_Team-DougH would definately win ??.

Your going to finish the course. You love playing. It's obvious. We have a purpose for playing. Hearts need it.

I am a Gibson Learn & Master Guitar student since Dec. 2014. I had to Stop my Guitar Playing due to issues in Both Shoulder Rotators but I believe I am now Ready to Began My Guitar Learning Journey Again. I Progressed Very Well until the Shoulder Issues but I Love this Course and Steve Krenz is a MASTER GUITAR INSTRUCTOR. I plan to Master most of the Sessions in this Course and someday have the Ability to Play My Guitar Respectfully for Friends and Family. End of Year 2020 is my Current Completion Goal.

@Eracer_Team-DougH I seem to be on  similar path.  I started six years ago (11/12) and upon reaching session 10 I discovered many weaknesses, mostly my chords (open and barre) did not sound very good one string at a time. I am now still working to improve before going on...but I am still enjoying my guitar time.

To be fair to myself, I did spend first 4yrs of my LMG journey doing 9 major stage productions with my daughter.

And building tube amps

The last 4yrs was devoted to the church choir

It's time to start the generators of learning again and recharge and make some new callouses.

I've been working on the main Learn and Master course for quite a few years, probably 10 or so. I'm up to session 14 or so, but have dabbled with other courses along the way. Moved a few times (long distance) and that seemed to really derail my practice. Also got sidetracked a bit with other instruments, so my practice time got spread thin sometimes. Hoping to start the Fingerstyle course soon, but thinking I might want to just concentrate on the main course and get further along in it. One thing I know, is I am so grateful I found Steve's course all those years ago!

I started the L & M Guitar course when I turned 60.  Took me 18 months of solid work to complete it, no short cuts, just treated it like a college course and stuck with it.  I avoided any other side tracts so as not to get distracted.  It took six months to complete the Blues Spot Light course, and backed that up with "Blues Grooves" from Steve that I won on one of the live lessons and finished that one 2 months ago.  The L & M Fingerstyle course was the hardest and that took me about 14 months to complete.  I like that one so much I spent a year just learning classical music from "Classical for Guitar" that I also got from Steve.  I figured if studying classical was good enough for Mark Knopfler it probably wouldn't hurt me to do the same.  During that time I also finished the L & M Song Hits.  I did not memorize them, just learned them to be able to play them with the printed music.  Now, I am doing what I really wanted to do in the first place...learning rock and roll songs.  So now after 4 and a half years I feel like I can play most any intermediate songs (classical, blues or rock) and now it really doesn't take that long to learn riffs.  If I hear it (over and over LOL) I can figure it out.  (Yes, it was worth it.)  Still working full time as well.  If I can do it, anyone can.  You don't have to be gifted.  The only week I don't practice every day is when I go to Chicago to a week long medical meeting after every Thanksgiving as I have for the last 32 years.  If I behave, my wife might let me stop by the Chicago Music Exchange this time though.  Good Luck to the rest of you on your own guitar journey.  GH
