This solo at 130 bpm is moving right along. When I listen to the song on you tube I would have bet it was a lot faster. It’s just a blur.to fast for my taste.

I thought solos were supposed to like taking to someone.Who talks like this? I guess I am confusing music genres.Blues vs Rock

I like the solo in Hit Me with Your Best Shot.. I can actually hear the recording in my head of it.

but since I'm struggling with the single note riff on Day Tripper and You Got It at speed .. it will be some time before I try this song.

I’ve been concentrating on learning the blues,so this solo seems fast.I guess by rock standards it’s pretty slow. The solo seems faster than the vocals, but It must be all the sixteenths, where the vocals was mostly quarters. The trills are hardly noticeable to my ears.

Well, this solo is starting to look promising. Tonight I learned that I couldn’t play it at 160 bpm, but I wasn’t to far away.Why 160 bpm, do you ask? The metronome was useless when set at 130, but I thought if I set it at 32 bpm I could actually use it because I could hear the clicks. So If I could play the first bar in one beat at 32, I must be close. The problem was my metronome only goes down to 40 bpm.

Makes you all the more impressed with Steve's playing skills doesn't it?

Time after time he rips off these licks with ease...

I am not only in awe of Steve’s playing, but of everyone who can pick up a guitar and play. I know they didn’t sell their “soul” they spent thousands of hours in front of a music stand and at times dealing with pain and a lot of frustration. The metronome alone is enough to drive one mad.

Neil Giraldo is a fantastic guitar player. He is what gave Pat Benatar a hard edge.
