Does anyone use an time/task management type app to track practice sessions.  I thought one could be really useful, I am taking a look at ATracker.  But was wondering what others might have tried, does anyone have recommendations?

Hi Dave,

My guitar instructor requires a weekly report with times, what practice, our feels about the practice, etc.  I try to block my time so all my guitar time is together, but that may change depending on other family requirements.  I looked at the app you put up and think it might be useful if you were trying to budget your time or discipline yourself to studying.  Not sure if this helps.  Have a great E2 day.

I think I will give it a try.  Found a couple of other ones but this seems the most promising.  Some others require a “subscription”,  some have not been updated in a long time,  the developers of this one seem responsive and it’s just a one time payment.

all I am looking for is an app to provide incentive to practice on a regular basis and the ability to look back at what I practiced and for how long...  with the ability to add comments.

Dave, I’m still using the long-ago orphaned application Music Journal (shown). I’ve yet to find anything equal to it in the ever-opaque App Store. Sadly, it is 32-bit and the developer abandoned it two or three years ago. I would really like to find a suitable replacement. The closest I’ve found is Praxis: Music Practice Journal, but those who’ve tried it report that it’s not as good as Music Journal. Sigh.

ATracker looks straightforward, and the price is right, but it seems to lack subcategories or a folder hierarchy for tasks. And I'm pretty sure there's no metronome. But you will find that the ability to visualize your practice time -- in some form -- is indeed a great incentive to keep going.
