Hi All,

Just got the bundle to supplement my LMG studies.  I noticed the other 4 courses included PDF workbooks.  Does anyone know if there is a PDF available for this one?

Thanks in advance!

@Adam429  Adam, are you referring to the "Fretboard Workouts Bundle"? If so, note that the accompanying PDFs are e-mailed along with the links to the videos. I'm not aware of a "workbook" with all those PDFs combined as a single file.

@DianeB Thank you for the response.  I'm sorry, I should have worded that better.  I got the bundle you mentioned and the Major Scale Master 1&2, Money Chords, and Jazz Chords all came with a PDF, but the Speed and Agility videos did not.  I was just hoping there was a PDF because I like reading, then watching the videos, but if that's not possible, I'll just write everything down during the first pass through.

Thank you again!

I remember asking the same question when I got the Fretboard Workouts Bundle.   The Speed and Agility workout does not have an accompanying PDF.    Major Scale Mastery (both levels) , Money Chords and Jazz Chords do have the PDF.   Just follow along with Steve in the video for this one.

@William Nelson Great, thank you for the info!

I do have another question if you have the time.  I watched through the basic video on my lunch break.  In the intro, he mentioned a stretching exercise (1-2-1-3-1-4-1-5-1-4-1-3-1-2-1).  I was wondering how the timing was with that, but noticed he didn’t do that in basic.  Does that come back in intermediate or advanced?

Thank you in advance.

@Adam429  Honestly it's been a while since I reviewed these exercises.   You've reminded me that I could stand a refresher!     When you ask about timing, are you talking about the musical timing?  4/4, 3/4, etc?      I think he approaches those exercises as if you are playing individual quarter notes.    The first video that shows you the exercises is meant to just introduce you to the basic patterns he will be using throughout the series.  In the subsequent videos Steve uses these same basic exercises at different points on the neck and at increasing speed to help you gradually build up your speed.   You'll notice in the later videos he is using a metronome to help you keep time and gradually get faster.

@William NelsonRight, I was thinking the musical timing.  I think I may be overthinking it a little bit.  I was thinking moving down the strings should be one fluid exercise all the way down, but even Steve uses a small rest when moving to the next string for this exercise.

Attempted the exercises tonight.  I was able to keep up to 120 bpm on basic for the 1st and 2nd exercise, but I have some work to do on the back 4 and chromatic scale.  I wonder how long it would take someone to be capable of hitting the 16th notes at 120 bpm.  Seems impossible at this point haha.

@Adam429   I think Steve would tell you it is certainly not impossible!    It is definitely a journey one step at a time.      Don't rush.    Start slowly and get the basic techniques   correctly under your fingers.   The speed will come.     How long it takes to get to 160 bpm would depend on the individual I suppose.    I know I'm not there yet but I'm definitely better than before I started!

Haha that’s true.  I’ll get there eventually.  I’m consistently hitting everything at 120 bpm except for the chromatic scale which I can barely get 100% correct at 60 bpm.  I’m going to try slowing it to 48 tomorrow to see if that helps at all.  I just need some repetition so my fingers know where they’re supposed to go.

@Adam429 Steve Introduced the Speed and Agility workout in the Guitar Gathering July 2016 and he pretty much blew everyone away.

the Key to his Fretboard Series workouts is to watch the instruction videos that introduce you to the patterns.

start with the Basic video until you have it good.. they move to the intermediate video.. rinse repeat..

as Steve says in his videos "if you had problems keeping up, work on it tomorrow.. eventually your practice will become your warm ups "

@Eracer_Team-DougHits definitely a workout.   I can get everything but the chromatic scale at 120 bpm.  I always end up tripping up on the 2nd and 3rd strings.  I’ll keep at it.  I’ll get it eventually.  In the mean time, I’ll keep increasing the bpm for the others so I’ll have a little head start for intermediate.

I finally was able to complete the chromatic scale with no mistakes at 60 bpm (basic).  I’ve noticed with moving up or down a fret/string, I’m ok, but I miss the string pick sometimes.  Just need to keep drilling at 60 bpm or lower until I can consistently hit it.
