Good news! I saw the surgeon today. I don't have to immobilize my finger any longer; just some taping for another week. I can start moving and playing in one more week. I should be back to normal in 3 weeks if all goes well.

Great news!

Hi Alice, I don't know about normal, but I should be able to play again.

The best part is playing guitar is my physical therapy.

I am back at it. This is my first week of playing in a month. Playing guitar is my physical therapy. The G chord hurt for a couple days, and the B Barre chord is a little painful for now. I posted this recording in the Monthly Challenge as proof of life.

I broke a finger on my fretting hand early this spring. I worked on my finger picking patterns for awhile when I could use my finger again I used my nylon string guitar so I didn't have to use as much pressure on it. but it is good therapy to help get the fingers moving again.

@Tom D Good to see you are still playing. My finger still hurts when I do certain things. Playing guitar doesn't seem to aggravate the finger much. Keep working on that physical therapy.

what was the old saying.. one small step for mankind.. or was that for guitar playing.. Everyday is a win! Breaks of any kind are bad as we age..

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.  I do know how you feel, I had some sever damage to my right arm and shoulder while on deployment about 13 years ago and could even hold a guitar for loots 2 years.  Be patient , follow the doctors instruction, you will be back playing before you know it.
