Have you noticed bits of classical music appearing in modern day songs?

I noticed that Billy Joel's "This Night" song  chorus uses the second movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Pathétique Sonata

A comedian  Rob Paravonian rants about how much Pachelbel's Canon in D appears in popular songs. It is food for thought! What have you noticed?

I have been learning a few ukulele songs lately. In my book there is the melody for an old folk song dating back to the 1870's called "My Girl". I was quite surprised to find that it sounds like the Nivarra song. Here is what Wikipedia had to say on the subject

"In the Pines", also known as "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?" and "My Girl", is a traditional American folk song originating from two songs, "In the Pines" and "The Longest Train", both of whose authorship is unknown and date back to at least the 1870s.
