Are you trying to chose the right guitar amp for your needs? Don't know much about it or want to know more?

Check out this video series by Long and McQuade Music (Canada's largest music retail chain) for the scoop on everything from Tube Amps, to Digital, to cabinets, speakers... the history and development, effects (natural and otherwise); the lot.

https://www.long-mcquade.com/blog/720/Facebook-Live-Series.htm

I wish I'd seen this before I bought my first amp! (yes, this one is long at almost 2 hours, but hey, pick what you want to hear)

NOTE; THIS LINK TAKES YOU TO A LONG LIST OF VIDEOS ON A WIDE VARIETY OF TOPICS WHICH YOU MAY FIND INTERESTING!  SCROLL DOWN TO FIND THE AMP ONE...

Also there is a library of videos on a host of topics of interest.  Enjoy!

Regards; Neil

The cut and paste link didn't work and the L&M link leads to the list of articles but I can figure out which one you were referring to.

I have to say at this point a product like the Line 6 Pod Go puts near state of the art modeling in reach of anyone considering a mid-range price level tube amp.  The Pod Go delivers the same amp, cab and effects modeling of the Helix in a smaller less complicated form for a very attractive price.  As a bit of a gear-aholic, who's symptoms have been in remission since going to a Helix LT, I feel the Pod Go is a piece of gear a beginner or intermediate player could be very happy with for a very long time for playing at home recording or even gigging.

@Six String actually if you scroll down the list of seminars it's easy to find the one on amps.

I tried to copy the direct video link and couldn't

But the amp one is an easy find, it's part of their Covid stuck at home videos

You'd have to be way more of a gear-aholic than me to listen to a 2 hour webcast on amps.

That’s a good video @NeilES335 And very long..... Long.....

I bought  a Fender Mustang GTX this week. I’ve been watching tons of videos and doing hours of research on amps. However, you never learn much till you do something yourself. I choose the Mustang because it gave me the chance to learn a lot for a reasonable price. Lots of modeled amps built in and all fully adjustable as the models on which they’re based. And effects, of course. While it’s just DSP, it sounds good enough I think to help me discover my sound. Maybe that will help keep me focused on my guitar.

Congrats Steve- You will enjoy and learn a lot from this and you can always keep it in the herd or cull it and upgrade later. I still have the first year Mustang III and love to switch to the different models and play around with band sounds from the 60's & 70's........have fun and enjoy!
