I remember well how I struggled with Canon in D when I was in Session 10 of the main LMG course some years ago.

Now I came across the same song in Session 5 of the fingerstyle course and finally enjoyed relearning and recording it.

Very nice, Wim. Very nicely done.  I never did get Canon in D mastered.

Very nice Wim. It took me a long time to get anywhere near as nice as your recording. Thanks for posting!

@Wim VD1 Hi Wim, another great recording, well done you played beautifully.  Again, this is another song I have also been working on and hope to post a recording in the near future and can only hope that I play it a good as you can.  Thanks for posting, I'm just going off to do more practice! 😊

Wow! Another wonderful recording!  I got through Canon in Session 10 but still had a few rough spots that I wanted to work on.  Looking forward to getting into the fingerstyle course to really get going! :)

Thanks for sharing that!

@Wim VD1 Ditto. Beautifully played.... I didnt detect a missed note anywhere, tone and timing very good,

My only 'gentle critique" would be to pick up the tempo a bit, and watch the string noise. (Ever try it on  a classical Nylon string guitar?) But having said that I confess I never got this tune right or anywhere close to a good as this. It was put on the 'back burner" to be revisted "some day" .   I've sort of come to the conclusion that some players (like you) are just naturally good at fingerstyle.

@Wim VD1 certainly better than I've played this tune.. I sort of found it a 'fun' tune but never put the time into it to make it worth sounding well (do I ever?)

I don't play well enough to comment, except to say. very good.

Thanks, @matonanjin, @Dave White, @Simira, @K9kaos, @NeilES335 and @Eracer_Team-DougH!

@K9kaos, I did not really master Canon in D after finishing Session 10 of the main course and realized that Session 10 was just a first introduction to fingerstyle.

I decided to "drop the pick" in December last year and have played only fingerstyle in the past 6 months.

Steve's fingerstyle course is great and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn this style.

@NeilES335, I agree on the string noise. I borrowed a not-so-good nylon string for this Session on classical guitar and recorded Canon in D with it. So the string noise is coming from the 3 wound strings. It's due to my very dry hands and calluses, playing technique, and the clip on microphone. Avoiding string noise remains a real challenge to me.

The tempo should be fine. I played it at the suggested 105 bpm.

@Eracer_Team-DougH, I appreciate your comments, there is no reason to doubt that. You are the one playing guitar for a big audience in church and I have nothing but respect for that 👍.

Wim.
