I do like my Variax's. The last one I had though I couldn't get on with the neck which was a very fat 59 LP profile so I let it go. I've been on the lookout for another for quite a while and just now stumbled across one on eBay, almost new and perfect condition for almost half the price of a new one. I couldn't let that slide so I snagged it.

These Variax Standards are essentially a Yamaha Pacifica with upgraded hardware and trem and Variax electronics so I know already I'm going to like the feel of it. Can't wait till it gets here :)

I have a red version of that guitar. Made in the same factory as the PRS SE guitars in Korea. Very well made guitars and fun to play around with. They are a bit heavy with all the added electronics. Want to play Norwegian Wood...dial in the sitar. A little country, maybe the banjo or Dobro. Open G...quick switch over. With software, mix p90 with a lipstick? So many possibilities. That said...I'm still mostly a tele guy. 

Have fun with it Ice. She's a looker.

Congrats! Those Pacificas are great. I played a higher end one with a P90 in the neck and a humbucker in the bridge. Really cool guitar. Let us know what you think of that Variax system!
