@Nutty 1 I was wondering how you sync'd external audio to your video,  but I guess you're not using the Scarlett into a DAW, but I guess you've told your Mac the audio input is the 2i2 so mo sync'ing required

Yes Doug I believe I went into "System Preferences" and set it as the sound input. After that Quicktime uses the 2i2 whenever it is plugged in and the internal mic when it is not, this happens automatically. (I think I had to tell Logic ProX about the 2i2 for it to appear in the input options, but as you say I do not use Logic or any other DAW for my videos).

I do not use Logic for my videos as I use these as an exercise to get my singing and playing as good as I can on the whole song in a single take. I do quite a lot of takes 🤣 so it means I get to practice the song all the way through. When I first started recording for the challenges using GarageBand I was only doing a few bars at a time and pasting them together which is not the same as playing the whole song from a practice point of view e.g learning how to transition from arpegios to strumming or from chorus back to verse. I was lazy.🤔 However I do need to start using Logic again or I will forget how to use it.😂

Hello Bradley, that sounds great. I did't know this song but it's beautiful.

The only recommendation I would make is to record it a bit louder.

Thanks for sharing,

Wim.

Hello @Grappler50 and all who follow this thread.

Thank you Grappler50 you for sharing your song with us. As your file is a .caf file many people will not be able to listen to it.

I have opened it up in Logic and converted it to a .mp3 file and posted it on Box.com file sharing site. Here is a link to Grappler50 Jolene

Wow, you have a lovely singing voice and your mandolin playing is great. Thank you for entering.😎👏👏👏

My submission for this recording challenge is Long Ago and Far Away, a jazz standard from 1944, from the movie Cover Girl, staring Rita Hayworth and Gene Kelly.  The song was made famous by Jo Stafford.  I recorded the rhythm and then the melody.  Thanks,

Danny Boy has been performed by many great female artists like Mahalia Jackson, Johan Baez, Judy Garland and Sinead O'Connor, but it is the version of Eva Cassidy, accompanied by acoustic guitar, that is my favorite.

The arrangement I learned over the past weeks is from Steve's L&M Fingerstyle course session 4.

Thanks for listening,

Wim.

This song always stirs my heart, and this beautiful rendition was simply magnificent. I truly am a fan of your play and look forward every month to enjoy your contributions for us to savor

It’s so nice to drop in on this challenge and listen to such wonderful recordings

Simira, Nutty, Bradly...as my Brit friends would say, absolutely brilliant contributions. I truly enjoyed them all. I could not access Jolene, but I am certain it was just as nice. This may be one of the best monthly collections yet. Well played all.

This reminds me of of an old album that I have. Julie London album featuring Barney Kessel on the guitar.
