My days are pretty flexible for the most part so in-between work stuff and long walks to stretch my legs, I am getting some playing in. I'm currently working on L&M sessions 5 & 6 since they both cover open chords. I'll do the same with sessions 7 & 8 (barre chords). I went back to the beginning of book and played all the songs just for something different. My nephew has a birthday in a few days and I've been learning "Happy Birthday" as part of my side project of learning the fret board. I've done that and the melody for "Nowhere Man" in fifth position. I'm sad that I was won't be play it for him in person, but hey, that's why we have Skype.

Edit -- The Ditto X2 Looper I ordered arrived today. Now the project is trying to figure out how to use it. I'll take a look at Steve's looper video but I've got to get an instruction book of some sort.

Stay safe.

Dan

dan0725: Steve's video on using the ditto is good. I was sidetracked by a Klon KTR, but the Ditto is most likely next. Let us know how it goes.

Dave: Congrats on making that milestone!

Not at the moment, I seem to be busy preparing for real and 'just in case' scenarios at the moment.  When I have finished 'preparing', I would like to have more time to practice guitar, but I would also like to revisit learning the piano too.  Keep Safe😊

So how are things going for everyone now that this post is 2 months old? Have you made a lot of progress in the past 2 months?

For me, I've been focusing on rhythm a lot recently and I feel like I've made some good progress there. Spending a lot of time just with a practice amp and a metronome. Simple is good :)

Sadly, I have not picked up a guitar since March, not because of coronavirus but because I am working on preparing a properly sound-isolated (aka soundproof) music room for my wife and I. Living in a flat neighbours do not want to hear all sorts of instruments being practised and we are blessed to have been able to purchase a small commercal space in our building beneath the shops, so actually I have been self-isolating by choice!

I will report back to playing guitar, flute, drums, bass and keyboard as soon as the room is ready.

Wow Fretless! That is going to be an amazing space!!! Can't wait to see how it turns out!!

As for me, I think I've made some good progress with the Triad series and workouts.

I've been practicing them almost every day and I can really see improvement! The first workout seems fairly straightforward to me now, and I'm chipping away at getting fluid and consistent with the 7ths in workout #2.  Every once in a while my brain just freezes up, but its happening less and less. I think I'll try working thru some songs using the triads and see how that goes!

Still working (or trying to at least.. ) so not a whole lot of extra free time even though business has been painfully slow...  And we are getting some projects done around the house.

Working on my pedalboard and Fractal Axe8 patches, getting ready for a July 4th block party if it works out this year. I have postponed my visit to the  Gathering until next year, so no preparation for the Student Showcase.

Working from home, I save lots of commuting time. I have been working intensively on the classical guitar session 5 from the fingerstyle course and could finalize it in 2 months where I thought I would need at least 3. More practice time is one of the few benefits of this whole lockdown situation.

Wim.

Fretless, I have no doubt this music room is going to be awesome.  Be sure and share some photos "when playing guitar, flute, drums, bass and keyboard as soon as the room is ready. "   Please!

I still play and practice almost every day. Steve Krenz has been keeping me busy with the Live Lesson and Workout Wednesdays.

I've missed many days of practice, at times an entire week. Work requires a lot of energy and first priority is staying healthy. I was doing well being able to go across lessons 5-8, but lost that with so many days off. I'm hanging in there though. For the first time in months I did a six-day stretch of practicing and a day off, followed by practicing again today.

Also, I haven't listened to the Tuesday and Wednesday live lessons in awhile. Over the years I learned that a long nap before work in addition to earlier sleep is the optimal pattern for working overnights. I look forward to rejoining the live sessions soon.

I'm grateful to be working and keeping the bills paid. The guitars are ready to play when I am and that fuzz pedal puts a smile on my face with surprising sounds.

I don't have a single minutes in front of me.

Here in Quebec City, my little Audrey can't go to the daycare because I work for the gouvernment of Quebec and I work from home. So, I'm with my little girl 24/7 and my son can go to school since mid may.

With my full time job at home and everything in the spring/summer stuff, I didn't touch my guitar since march 13, the day that Quebec Province went in lockdown.

I still remember that day, I worked 84h in 4 days because we had to setup all the network and some clinic to help peoples.

Bonjour Sylvain!

Long time, no chat! Apparently you're well so I'm glad for that... Yes it seems that some folks have a lot of time on their hands at home, and others like you are busier than ever, and it's a challenge to find a few minutes to practice and play guitar. Hopefully as the lockdown opens up again you'll be able to resume your passion for playing.

All the Best; Neil

Like Neil said some have ton of time of their hands others zero extra time.

Also As Neil said good to hear from you and hope you can get back to playing soon

Welcome back d2. Nice to hear from you. I had the pleasure of spending a few days in your beautiful city a year and a half ago and look forward to another visit in the future I hope soon. I remember the collection of mini-Marshalls you acquired and I thought you had a Relish guitar at one time, though I may be be in error on that. Also discussions on  Tone Kings? Glad you are enjoying family and keeping busy.
