I just added the Orange Crush Mini for a little British flavor. The amp does pretty good clean tones up to really dirty ones with distortion and feedback. It runs on a 9V battery, or external power. No power button; just plug in to turn on. Three simple knobs and a built in tuner. You can hook up a cabinet for more robust sound. You can plug a sound source in to jam along. Headphone jack for quiet jamming. A small practice amp for a small price at $69.

Sure isn't like the old days when a post like this would prompt 20 different posters to congratulate you on the new amp and share their experiences with similar amps.

So, since it seems its just the odd stray (being me), I'll say I hope you are enjoying the new amp and being inspired to learn something new and Congrats X 20.

@Randy120 Ditto; It does look like a handy little grab and go amp for practice, take to a friends, the cottage, on the porch or patio. Enjoy. N

@Six String I think the little guy was ignored because I found a different thread about small amps which was popular.

@NeilES335 I think so too. In many ways this would be a great first practice amp.

I spent three days with the Orange Crush Mini. I had fun playing it. The amp definitely tends toward a dirty sound. I also used the Orange Crush Mini in stereo with my Peavey Classic 30 II connected to my BOSS GT-1 multi-effects pedal. Stereo took the GT-1 to a whole new level, and the Mini worked great as the second amp.

Pro

Build quality is excellent. This is a real amp, and it is a beauty.

Price most pedals cost more than the $69. If my first amp was $69 then I would have had $300 more towards my second amp.

Wide range of tones. This isn't a nice warm amp, but it can do reasonable clean tones for practice. High Gain settings have a lot of distortion including feedback.

The controls are simple and really change the sound.

Tuner works great.

1/8" jack for jam along.

Headphone jack.

Easily portable, and works great with a battery.

It isn't really loud. You probably will not go deaf using it.

Speaker out so you can hook to a cabinet with a 12" speaker which will take this amp to a whole new level.

Con

It isn't really loud.  You couldn't play with a band.

Not much bass with the small speaker.

It will not be your only amp. You would outgrow this amp as your skills improve.

Actually, you should take a serious look at the Fender Mustang LT-25 or maybe its big brother the LT-40. Both are killer modeling amps, well built, sound fantastic  and cost much less than the Orange. I bought an LT-25 and could not believe how loud and clear such a small amp gets.

@Las Vegas Steve um no a Mustang LT-25 is not cheaper than a $69 battery powered Orange amp. More like $199usd.

Little Orange will be good for car/van type practice (ehm 😎)

I have a different little battery amp that served me well till I picked up a used Traynor TVM50 battery amp,

@Las Vegas Steve I already have 3 other amps, and all of them are much more expensive than the Orange Crush Mini. The Mini has great features for a small practice amp, and its sound is different from my other amps.

Little amps like this are great for travel. The Orange is a bit too limited for me but fits well for the needs of a small room practice amp, given the  nice price. I opted to go for the Yamaha THR 10C which a little lunchbox amp-type, which I have taken to Nashville for the summer Guitar Gatherings . Packs in a suitcase, powered by chord or batteries. Ample small room volume for a practice amp, but more expensive than the Crush for certain

@Randy120, thank you for the information about this little amp.  As you may have seen from the "small amps" thread, I need to find something to take to my weekly jam.  The Orange Crush Mini certainly looks like it would fill the bill.  I'm looking at a couple and need to decide which one.  The Orange Crush Mini is certainly the best cost option and for a couple hours per week I sure don't need anything expensive.

Thanks again.

My Bad!  I confused the Orange Mini you mention with the next bigger one.  My Fender did not cost anywhere near the $199 someone quoted above --- I got mine for $109 from Sam Ash.

Yup $199 is Amazon Canada price for LT25.

But I don't see a battery option for the Fender LT25

I spent some time this weekend with the Orange Crush Mini connected to the Boss GT-1. The little amp worked well with the multi-effects pedal.

I played with the Orange Crush Mini for 1 hour a day over the last few weeks. The single 9v battery lasted almost 3 weeks before I noticed the built-in tuner would not recognize my low E string. Then the volume started to drop off noticeably. I plugged the amp in for the first time and the volume came roaring back.

I played with several effects pedals, and the little Orange was better than expected. The small speaker breaks up easily when you play hard, but playing with a lighter touch cleans it up nicely. Of course the amp also has a mean distorted sound. I definitely plan to add a speaker cabinet in the future.

I added this small 8” 20w cab to my Orange Crush Mini. Man it is amazing the big sound you get from 3 watts. I only use the volume and gain at the halfway point which is very loud. The Crush isn’t exactly a head so it doesn’t fit nicely on top. I would have liked a 12” speaker, but this is the cheapest cab I can find. The Fender cab has a 12”, but it is twice the price of the Orange.
