Leonardo “Flaco” Jiménez  flaco  translates to Skinny.

You have probably heard of him or seen him play with the “Texas Tornados”.He played the accordeon  de botones. ( button  accordion) I was surprised to learn he even played on a Rolling Stones album. He won a Grammy for his album “Ay Te Dejo en San Antonio” or “Oh, I leave you San Antonio” in 1986. I always like the Tejano / conjunto polka music. I listened to a lot of polka music when I was a little kid. My dad would take me the neighborhood tavern where polkas were on the “menu”. Until it was “cas je da gres domon spat”
Later I wondered how did  the accordions end up in Tejano music. That was until  I traveled through Fredericksburg Texas. Named after Prince Frederick of Prussia. When the Germans immigrated to Texas they brought their Ziehharmonika often called a “squish commode” the English translation.  Sadly Flaco passed away last year.
