“Blues You Can Use”  by John  Ganapes, another  book I pulled from the shelf that I hadn’t looked at in awhile. I started reading it from the last page for reasons unknown, which happened to be the notation legend, which was different from most music books with a  legend. So, I started browsing until I got to compound bends, I was pretty sure that I’ve read about compound bends before, but I know I never tried to incorporated one into a blues solo.I couldn’t even remember seeing one in sheet music so I stated to look and found one in a song that I looked at a hundred times, because it has such a great solo in it, but, I never noticed the compound bend. The song is “Comfortably Numb” by Pink Floyd. It wasn’t notated in the music  like shown in the Blues book legend and I never looked close enough at the notes in the bend to realized it was a compound bend, of course I am just comfortably dumb. I guess one  could say I just put “another brick in  the wall” building my house of blues knowledge.

I do like the book because it starts out with four  easy  songs in the lessons, Texas Rock,Blues Rock Tune,True Blue and swinging the blues.. I do wish it had come with  a dvd and not the cd.
