I'm a Bob for sure and tend to be very impulsive with guitars, not always with good results. I'm a Ben when it comes to amps though.

I'm a "Ben" but I'm the reason "Bob" sounds so good.

"Ben's" are the stage managers and techs.

They'e The ones that can make a singer using a lavalear sound good.

They'e The ones to make sure the "fol-spots" are well "following spots"

And they'e the ones why Bob can use a 1969 Superlead night after night on 10.

But of course it's "Bob" that everyone came to see.

Definately a Ben.

I have the spread sheets on maker, seller, price, etc, etc etc to prove it too.

It takes me months to make a decision on what to buy and where lol.

Definitely a Ben, but similar to a blind pig finding an acorn once in a while!  I've researched acoustic tone-woods and body shapes while my skill set resembled "chop sticks" on a piano.  How does one "feel" a guitar talk to you at that stage of development?  You go into a "guitar shop" and somebody next to you rips off a "SRV" or "Julian Lage" set of licks while you worry about "chop sticks".  Not good.  We all want to believe that signature model we've seen will allow us to play and sound better...but it doesn't.  My point is I think beginning guitarists need to learn how to play fundamentally before being stricken with G.A.S.ed overload.  I love boutique acoustic guitars, with attention to construction detail, that make my heart sing...even if I sound like a scalded cat while playing it.  :-)

Beginner Ben here, not in search of the Holy Grail of tone, but for a variety in tones. There again, throw on some dirt, delay, reverb and flanger and everything probably sounds the same with my fingers. But clean.......ahhh , there are differences.:D

This is where being both southern and from the hills pays off.  Two first names is part of the culture and in this case, I'm clearly a "Ben-Bob".

I spend half my time gas-ing for gear for great tone, and the other half wailing away, murdering all my favorite tunes.

Best of both worlds I say.

Little of both. Being left handed forces you into more planning when purchasing a new guitar, except recently. Running into a Les Paul Traditional,  left handed in mint condition on the Gruhn's Website just isn't fair. Then the next day I ran into a left handed Cordoba C5-CE, nylon string classical for $335.00 isn't fair either.

Yep, it is not fair but it would have been a crime if you did not to buy them!???
