Anyone had the surgery?  If so, did it make you play better?:D  That's what I'm hoping.  Going in next month for surgery, can't stand it any longer.  While I don't hold a lot of hope for better playing maybe I can practice longer which in turn should help me play better.

Right handed and left hand is the bigger problem and the one getting the surgery.  Have tried the brace and exercises to no avail.  Right hand has some too but will have to wait.

If you have had the surgery has it helped you?  Good, bad results?

I had Carpal surgery on both of my wrist when I was about 26 yrs. old.

I have never had any problems with my wrists since then and I will be 75 in April.  It has not made me a better guitar player but it has not hurt my feeble attempt of learning to play.

Be sure you get the best orthopedic surgeon you can find, and then let them heal completely before easing back into regular activity.

Take Care,

Jim

Thanks,  glad yours has been a success.  I know that if let go too long the results aren't as good.  However I think mine is caught in time, it just recently started getting a lot worse.  I have a Dr. who is supposed to be real good and all she does is hands.
