Theme: Out With the Old and In With the New

Description:   Any Old song or New song, any song with Old or New in the title or lyrics,  any song that you learned a New skill to play, any Old favorites.  In other words this is pretty open this month so let's get some entries.

SUBMITTING: To complete the challenge, record an eligible song and reply to this thread with your your direct-linked or embedded track (Soundcloud's great) before the end of the month.

GUITAR REQUIREMENT: You must play at least one real guitar track heard in the mix.

GEAR: All content must be recorded with your home studio equipment. You may use BIAB or loops as long as you play the majority of the song with your real guitar. This is a guitar playing challenge not a sampling/recording challenge so keep that in mind.

TIME: A recording made at any time before the entry deadline counts, but do not enter a recording in more than one challenge.

ONE ENTRY per person or collaboration. But, I doubt anybody will complain if you want to share another on-theme track too.

NEXT THEME: The person to choose next month's theme will be chosen randomly from those who complete this challenge.

any recommendations on input mixers?

I have Reaper installed but only an very old Omega mixer ,, it works ok but there was a Web site that you could "jam" with other musician's and the software complained my Lexicon Omega didn't have the 'latency' for the web jam site JamKazam

I've never tried to 'over dub' a track in Reaper either

I am sorry that I disappeared without a trace on the old forum, I decided that if my iPad did not like the security certificate on the old site then I should respect its opinion!

Here is a piece to get the ball rolling. It’s by Tarrega and it is called Adalita. It is a constant work in progress for me, and a fall back piece if I’m running out of ideas at a wedding. I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks Jaykay, this piece is one of a few that are relatively simple in their construction but near impossible to play perfectly. I use it as a guide as to how my playing is improving.(or not!) the way I play the section you are referring to is not perfect and I doubt it ever will be. So just take it slow and let it build speed naturally, starting the phrase on the correct  finger is the key to keeping it smooth. (I think, I’ll let you know for sure if I ever get it right. :-). Here is my offering. I fancied having a go at 12 Bar Blues. It is daft and not all that good but I had heaps of fun doing it and I learnt a lot.? As Country Lou Watson once said "The Blues Is a Good Woman Feeling Bad" Well, this is a bad singer and guitar player feeling good, thanks to this new forum!
