I also have a whole house humidifier in the same room with the guitars during the winter to keep humidity in the 40-50% range..

Bryan, thanks for posting the article. A good reminder of what needs to be done to protect our instruments.

Absolutely love that guitar case in the opening photo, it's something I have been considering for a while. I now have a vision of a winter workshop project.

Why buy a guitar to be cased and shoved under a bed or closet unless you gave up playing. 

Keep it out and play it is best

My Guild M-20 came with a humidifier built into the hard case just above the sound hole. An excellent idea.

This debate rages on ad infinitum. ( is it ad nauseum?)

I tend to agree with my friend @Eracer_Team-DougH, and leave mine out on stands where I can appreciate them and pick them up and play them whenever  the mood strikes. Just be sure they're in a safe spot and its not too dry there . I do case  more often in winter (with Daddario humidipaks,) those guitar(s) Im not playing often. Just (un?)common sense.

I completely agree with Neil and Doug, that the guitars should be seen and close at hand. But a cabinet with glass front doors will give me the best of both worlds.

I leave my LP always in the case..... I have 2 youngs kids :P
