This month's theme comes to us from @WATSON43

Theme: Unplugged

Description  Any song of any style played on an acoustic guitar.  (If you want to post something with an electric guitar we would love to listen to it,  but it will not be considered in picking the next months' theme.)

Deadline: 11:59 PM PST  February 28, 2018

1. @mark_h - " Marbella Wedding Guitar"

2. @WATSON43 - "What a Wonderful World"

KG_What a Wonderful World_February 2018 challenge.mp3

3. @V7#5b9

"Blowing in the Wind"

"Yesterday"

4. @Wim VD - "Misty"

5.  @IanD - "Angel"
6. @Nutty1 - "House of the Rising Sun"

------------------< RULES >-------------------------
SUBMITTING: To complete the challenge, record an eligible song and reply to this thread with your your direct-linked or embedded track (Soundcloud's great) before the end of the month.

GUITAR REQUIREMENT: You must play at least one real guitar track heard in the mix.

GEAR: All content must be recorded with your home studio equipment. You may use BIAB or loops as long as you play the majority of the song with your real guitar. This is a guitar playing challenge not a sampling/recording challenge so keep that in mind.

TIME: A recording made at any time before the entry deadline counts, but do not enter a recording in more than one challenge.

ONE ENTRY per person or collaboration. But, I doubt anybody will complain if you want to share another on-theme track too.

NEXT THEME: The person to choose next month's theme will be chosen randomly from those who complete this challenge.
-----------------------------------------------------

Have fun, try something new, and give us something to listen to!

I hope this month Has as many contributors as last month, what a great turnout! Thanks for taking the time to keep it going uncle hammy and thanks for this months challenge Watson43.

I Hope this is ok.. it’s an electro-nylon played through a Roland mobile AC amp. The audio was recorded live outdoors, direct to the mics of a Zoom H4n. The loop was created live on a boss RC3. It’s a little promo vid I made for my wedding services. It was recorded in my garden a couple of weeks ago.

There are lots of timing mistakes, bum notes, and I even wandered off at one point. But you don’t have to be perfect for people to enjoy what you do.  ??? Mark

Mark, that's beautiful!  Wonderful tone and great use of the looper.  If there were mistakes I sure didn't hear them.

Very cool Mark, sounded silky smooth. Well done.

From the video, it looks like you have it really rough over there :P

I noticed after posting my mp3 file that if you click on it, it downloads to your computer.  Can someone tell me how to embed a file so you can listen to it right here?  I see that other people have done this with their Soundcloud files, etc.  Last month I simply provided a link to Soundcloud, but I think it's nicer if you can listen here.  Thanks.

Very nicely done.  I'm trying to play and sing at the same time but so far my brain can only focus on one or the other.  Thanks for the song!

Not sure.  @Cindy or @Steve Krenz do you know how to embed the file so it will play native to the page rather than download?

Currently, my recording facilities are not favourable and I’m still focusing on practicing jazz etudes, but since the theme is fitting I thought I’d use my old recordings. This is really old stuff. I recorded those almost 5 years ago for a couple of initial monthly challenges. It’s kind of funny for me to listen to these amateurish attempts today. I really should take some time to rerecord them to find out if I’m still dying of laughter listening to them.

“Blowing In The Wind”

Bonus track “Yesterday” should probably stay home.

Some weeks ago, I recorded an accoustic version of Misty. So I thought this would fit here as well.

@mark_h Your promo vid is really nice. As far as I’m concerned you played smoothly. Non-rigid timing gives it more feeling. Bum notes? What bum notes? You meant to play what you did, that’s it!

Thanks so much Greg, you are very kind. You are also too modest, your fingers are far from flailing. ???
