Here's a Tip of the Month where Greg Voros (Head Guitar Tech for Gruhn's Guitars, Nashville TN) discusses with Steve Krenz selecting a new guitar; what to look for, what to choose, and why.  (7: 12 mins) (also found under Tips of the Pros)

A bit harder for a lefty, you don't get to try them out first. But I do have a question for Greg.I am thinking of getting a nylon string guitar with a wider nut for finger style. Cordoba has a lefty the GK Negra  (Cordoba GUFLCOR-05285 GK Studio). Are you familiar with these guitars?

I have heard that Cordoba has a problem with fret buzz on the 12th fret. I know that nylon strings have more vibration and slack, but is this a real problem with Cordobas?

Grog,

I'm not familiar with that exact model. However, Cordoba makes a great product. I've never had the 12th fret buzz be a chronic issue on these instruments. Their fretwork, for the most part is pretty solid.
