David Allen Coe out there? Not that many of his songs would be acceptable on this forum. "You don't have to call me darling, darling," and "Would you lie with me in a field of stone" are two that don't contain offensive language. DAC was an outlaw in his day--outrageous outfits and language. Lotsa luck.

That’s a name I havn’t heard in awhile. I  vaguely remember some controversy with Jimmy  Buffet and his song “Changes in  Latitudes”

I've always liked "Longhaired Redneck," and even better, "The Ride."

I saw him in concert with Willie Nelson ( in the height of his "Red Headed Stranger" era) back in 1976. Powerful and emotionally raw, he was an amazing deep  rich-voiced talent , whom I had never heard of before. I rushed out and bought his studio album and was sadly disappointed. The roaring lion was a yawning lap cat on the recordings, nothing like the live performer. He was however indeed a force amongst the outlaws when they all were to gather onstage.
