  1. @aldo.ant udemy version is not an “authorized version from what I understand, 2nd Steve did the DVDs over when Gibson sponsored Legacy Learning course, same scripts. Slightly different looking Steve (less hair more than current Steve) use of Gibson guitars vs what ever Steve had in his closet in 2006. short in HD vs standard video a few mistakes in the manual fixed Love me Tender name change to Aura Lee You’ll gain nothing from the Gibson Legacy version over the original Legacy version
  2. @Colburn my last set cost me $5500 , there are more expensive but my tech said my gain in quality is minimal Can’t remember if I said it above I brought my acoustic in and played while he adjusted settings to I found a spot that sounded right/good
  3. @Johnny whitley sorry to 'hear' that Johnny. I have otosclerosis where the inner bones harden and kill the inner ear from hearing since I was a child.. I've had stapedectomies and came close to -30db at bottom end of 'normal' hearing but it's been fading over the years and I'm somewhere near -65db without aids. sounds like you might need to use headphones (obviously for only the left ear.) to help the guitar playing so you can leave the guitar in normal position. as for word articulation. you probably rely on lip reading a lot, I do when it comes to modern music.. I can't tell you what they're singing.. (and I won't even talk about rap) my family often goes "oh who's singing on the music system in the store/restaurant", I'm like 'I can barely make out there's music let alone know who's singing other than maybe yet another female pop singer; if I can hear them at all. unfortunately there is currently no cure for deafness. but sometime after I'm long gone.. all those "booming" cars at 50,000 watts enough Gen X'ers will be deaf and hearing aids will become amazing.
  4. @matonanjin Clapton tickets up here were like $900 floors upper arena bowl at far end was like $125 nice you’re going Crossroads Fest. Far beyond my price range, let alone the travel price killer line up though
  5. You need a ukulele 😂 You have yours on slotted board, I just used 2”x10”x 8ft hardwood but then again I’m only dealing with a 10x10ft converted bedroom to Studio, your room is much nicer
  6. @Giovanni use pencil as you get better at memorizing the notes erase the note names you remember
  7. Not until we get to slow down we find life is too short. Too bad we’ve lost another GG member
  8. Well I find Tele’s a little “ice picky “ to my ears but I saw Sue Foley at a concert and she got a great tone for her pink Tele known as Pinky i may get one eventually ps my go to Les Paul is 9.03lbs my MIA Strat is 8.34lbs so LP not a lot heavier
  9. Accept for 1 2 &3 you got me on the other songs
  10. Well it was a tricky one on Fingerstyle and yes there's enough glitches in it and then the "solo" didn't come off quite like I wanted and got a bit "improvised" at least I ended it on the C which is the key I do have a 'vocal' version as well.. but I'll save your guitar ears
  11. @NinaJean you are talking basically “chord melodies “ Steve relies a lot on music theory knowledge you may be ‘above’ the simple playing skills in early part of LMG, but Steve puts in a ton of music theory into each lesson esp session 7&8. (Which I’ve ignored for too long) how’s your theory, can you pick out a flat 3rd in a F scale in your head fast? yes you will need clean barre chords for fingerstyle can you do both courses at once? Possibly. If you’re just looking at the fingering tab in the fingerstyle course. @DianeB might be able to fill in more than me
  12. I was just meaning they put out an article with a title catchy enough you end up on their website once there you go oh, ok I read this what else does StringJoy do you may end up thinking oh there’s stuff selling here that you may overlook else where and buy from them hence phished into their sale site
  13. Hmm odd article with nobody new, sounds like StringJoy ‘phishing’ article I know StringJoy has been pounding the Les Paul group I’m on on Facebook, they have a string tree to add to the headstock to an LP claiming it stabilizes tuning issues on Les Paul’s and today I just saw someone “try” StringJoy” strings on said Facebook group. wonder if they’ve done this for “free advertising “ 🤔
  14. Looking at my phone was small but I went oh open chords, a number of people would poo poo it cause of the “open cowboy chords” then I zoomed in and went oh, not open chords per se , I see the C on looks like 8th fret
  15. @matonanjin it’d be way too loud for my wife, thinks acoustics are loud enough (too loud) . Doesn’t understand you need a certain volume to equal certain tone, I need a a battery powered amp, that’s loud enough for a large picnic but doesn’t weigh 30lbs like my Traynor TVM50 lead acid battery 10” speaker amp
  16. my daughter bought me a small lapel pin of a acoustic guitar.
  17. I like Marty use. A few of his videos, I like Jimi and Voodoo Child is great, I’ll have to check this out
  18. @Strings the Gibson Skills House Lessons have been removed from Gibson. Steve's YouTube channel has years of videos on it. and the Fretboard Series is now a couple of years old that Steve put together I don't think the LM&G is not as popular today as it was due to the lack of marketing via 'old' Legacy Learning. just the number of posts done by new LM&G learners is proof. so really you only have mostly "old" learners such as myself who should have completed the course years ago but have been sidetracked by various adventures as playing live in church in front of 700~1500 people. The Song Hits was created by Steve to be the 'companion' to the LM&G learning course. (except where he had to put the full song in lower levels or pay royalties twice) Long-Short answer: no nobody has tied it all in as LM&G on it's own is long and easy to venture out of it once you hit Session 7&8.
  19. Yikes! Hopefully not as bad as my wife's elderly friend who got a text from "Amazon " saying there's activity on your account, reply yes it was you or no it wasn't . Next thing she gets is a phone call from "Amazon fraud department " , they say to her they need a money transfer to be able to trace the fraudulent access, and don't contact your bank till "thier" investigation is complete,,, lost thousands before her bank locked the accounts.
  20. @Wackyracer I think I might have been around the 55bpm it was recognizeable but not fluid. Since it was not my main interest I moved on,
