So, i have wanted an Ibanez S series for at least the last 10 years. Since i have spent several years doing easy mods and a cpl refinishes, i figured a fixer-upper was right up my alley. So i recently bought what was listed as a "Ibanez S series Saber Guitar body loaded". Floyd posts need a little attention, Infinity pickups in good shape, not much else to it except finding a neck. So, i bought a 25.5" scale ibanez "style" neck to start. This may be a very silly question but im hoping it will spark some enlightening conversation on scale lengths from which i can gain some much needed knowledge. When i dry fit the neck, im getting around 26.5" (26 3/8"-26 3/4", the range between the far reaches of the bridge saddles) I checked all of the fret spacings, and they are very precise to 25.5" scale measurements. Does this mean i have a 26.5" scale length body.? Ibanez definitely made some. But i thought that was primarily a 7 string scale.? And my unit came with a 6 string bridge. Anyway, sorry about the super long post, im just very confused now. I will make one if i have to, im just very unsure of what i am needing in order to land on an intonatable scale length.. TIA for any help provided.
