  1. Amazing stuff!! Thanks to all for sending in for us to listen, special thanks to Cindy for kickstarting this tradition again. Greg
  2. I am out of town for the next few days, away from my recording setup. I will get back to this when I return. Greg
  3. I built a guitar from a kit prepared by Precision Guitar, a company in Canada. Only the body and neck but the fit was “precise”. A professional luthier was impressed with the manufactured product. That said, it was more expensive than the StewMac but less than Warmoth when body and neck are bought separately. Still, additional parts need to purchased and the project can become expensive but it is rewarding and you can end up with an excellent outcome. Greg
  4. I am onboard with the Skills House concept reboot. I found it helpful and informative and a device that could flex with varied student interests and learning paths. I do miss it. Greg
  5. NIce WmVD!! Very authentic sounding and oodles of dynamics. I really enjoyed your interpretation of this classic Hendrix version. Thanks for a giving us a great listen. Greg
  6. Strangeness, "verby", spooky...I think we all felt the same about the original vocals. I had to isolate each vocal track to identify the problem. The solution was much easier. An interesting (challenging) chordal progression to create a melody line. Fun stuff. Greg
  7. Mandy.....I'm in!!!! You are the wise one. I set up my account so long ago with an old address, now I use the newer one primarily. Didn't think about that. A new rough mix is being uploaded now. Greg
  8. I too heard a strangeness to the vocals, went back and reviewed the trackings and discovered they didn't line up in the time signature. I had a blooper while recording and doubling that caused a mishap in alignment of both tracks, and when I tried to reposition the tracks manually, ended up creating a delay in the two tracks. That coupled with the panning and the audio effects created a huge echo. I deleted the errant track and redoubled....now it sounds normal and less affected. I will try uploading to you. Greg
  9. I sent a PM in response to you and Fretless. If it still isn't up, I will sent the file direct to Fretless to review, advise and insert. Greg
  10. Sweet, great song! never heard it before but just added it to my iTunes collection. Impressive performance, Danny, and I hear you about lack of recording time. I almost need a vacation from my music commitments as I am dealing with 2 separate musical ensembles learning totally different songs for each, and an evening blues jammers class at a local community college. I don't know how my wife is putting up with it, but she's a sweetheart. Congrats at a very nice recording. I hope we hear more of them from you. Greg
  11. I am finding all the files in my personal .box under the file "Recent".This is where I uploaded the rough mix, and it show up there. I did not have success accessing the link to Maggie's box, even though she said I was accepted when I tried. I never had this problem when you were leading the charge on these collabs with your box invites. Any suggestions on this? Greg
  12. A rough mix is uploaded to the box. Advice on mixing is welcome Fretless....kind of "verbie"to my ear. I doubled the lead vocals, very slight pan using a a basic vocal patch from Isotope Nectar that has a bit of delay and reverb that I scaled down. Greg
  13. Thanks again Cindy for putting this all together. So nice that you connected again with all of us on and took up again running point on these rewarding projects. Best wishes....looking forward to hearing the contributions. Greg
  14. Amazing production and mix on this Cap. Vocals and instrumentation superb. You are the master here of creative song composition. Well done, my friend.....as always. Greg
  15. Got a tune, got lyrics. Will begin recording tomorrow (I hope). Greg
  16. Very nice Mandy, so glad you are making progress in recovery. Stay positive, I always reference tincture of time...sometimes a lot of time for oldsters like me. I have been dealing with cramping in my fretting hand lately after extended play, the pointer finger curling up like a pretzel. Been thinking about your situation... Greg
  17. Thanks Steve. That is what I was referencing and I do understand the concept and the notation now. I just read the Bm7 coupled with the E/G# as one chord , not two.I am familiar with alternate bass notes in slash chords. Clarified, it does makes sense and sounds great to my ear as well. I should have paid attention at the slash marks under the chords in the notation, and I would have recognized the notation as two chords, not one. Greg
  18. Ah yes , 3 chords in the bar is correct. It pays to look at the 2nd line of slashes. I was thinking the Bm7 F/G# was somehow one chord ( which didn't make sense to me) the way I was looking at it. Now it makes sense. Greg
  19. I have a red version of that guitar. Made in the same factory as the PRS SE guitars in Korea. Very well made guitars and fun to play around with. They are a bit heavy with all the added electronics. Want to play Norwegian Wood...dial in the sitar. A little country, maybe the banjo or Dobro. Open G...quick switch over. With software, mix p90 with a lipstick? So many possibilities. That said...I'm still mostly a tele guy. Have fun with it Ice. She's a looker. Greg
  20. Steve, can you explain the slash chords of Bm7 and E (last chord) used in the first song? I understand the rest. Greg
  21. Busy weekend, upcoming busy week-jam class, two band practices. Update-still working on melody line. Looks like this will collab take "some time". I will keep updating progress. Greg
