  1. As guitar necks can bow in a helpful way from body to headstock (called neck relief) or an unhelpful way from low E to high E (sometimes called twisting) I had assumed that twisting was the case. I should have written it more clearly. Sorry Doug 😊 I am glad that you made the right decision @ChrisJ032 Enjoy your new guitar and post a picture or video for us when you get it.πŸŽ‰πŸŽΈπŸ˜Ž
  2. I personally would not accept a guitar with a neck that is slightly bowed, I would take it back to the shop. It may become even more of a problem in the future.
  3. @NeilES335 that was brilliantly played, very enjoyable.πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
  4. That was excellent @Wim VD1 superbly played as always with you. I enjoyed the bird sounds too, blackbirds are one of my favourite garden birds.
  5. πŸŽΈπŸ”†Hello Everyone!🧣🌲 This months topic comes from Simira. "How about the Beatles and Beyond. Any songs from the Beatles, Lennon, McCartney or Harrison?" We forgot Ringo, we can play any of his songs too! Thank you @PopeyeπŸ‘ This topic is pretty wide but if you can not find anything to suit you could post a song from the 60s decade. 1) Wim VD1 playing "Blackbird " 2) NeilS335 playing "Till There Was You" 3) Watson43 playing "Paperback Writer" 4) Simira playing "Hey Jude"
  6. @Simira, I would be really proud if I could play fingerstyle that well! You have inspired me to direct my learning down that path. Well done!πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
  7. @WATSON43 that was beautifully done Kevin, what a lovely song!πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
  8. I found this article interesting, it includes some wisdom from Mr Jimi Hendrix. It is so true. It is easy to make a mental note of all of the "mistakes" that we make while playing but as the article says "Art is supposed to be free, not perfect". Article
  9. @Wim VD1 that was superb, your skill at transposing a piano song to guitar is tremendous!πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
  10. This is a great lesson. It resonates with me because I have heard some of this advice on the bass course and a banjo course that I am doing at the moment. It is not only applicable to those of you who are playing on stage or in church but also for learning lesson material and songs from books. Although it is written from the perspective of a bass player it is just as applicable to playing chords or melody. Lesson
  11. 🏰🎑Hello Everyone!πŸœπŸ›€ This months Recording Challenge comes from Freewill, it is "Places or Locations". Freewill said "Songs that would obviously fit would be "America The Beautiful", "Back in the USSR", etc. " You can also interpret this more loosely for songs including the word "home" like "My Hometown" or the word "place" like "We've Gotta Get Out of This Place" or "A Place in Your Heart" I look forward to hearing your recordings. 1) Wim VD1 playing "St. James Infirmary " 2) Watson43 playing "Up on the roof" 3) Simira playing "Havanah"
  12. Welcome to the Recording Challenge @Freewill. Thank you for entering. It looks like those exercises have payed off well because your tracks are superb. Very smooth and flowing, beautifully played!πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
  13. @Simira, welcome to the Recording Challenge. That was absolutely beautiful! I really enjoyed that, thank you for sharing it with us. I hope this is your first of many.πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
  14. Looks like your hands did not forget how to do it! I know what you mean about note reading, if I use a learning resource that has tabs for a while I forget how to note read, especially the bass cleft.🎸
  15. Wow @Wim VD1 you never cease to amaze me with your skills. That was superb, with just the right touch, unhurried and gentle.
  16. @matonanjin that was great, superb sound and well played. That PRS is a real looker.πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ @Wim VD1 that was absolutely beautiful! Well played.πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
  17. 🎊A Very Happy New Year to you all πŸŽ‰ By special request from @Wim VD1 this months challenge is Blues or Rock (or both!) 😎 1) Wim VD1 "Stairway to Heaven" 2) Simira playing "Tirando" 3) Freewill playing "Slo Blues in Em" 4) Freewill Playing "Sunshine of Your Love"
  18. OK @Wim VD1 we will have Blues as the January Challenge!😎🎸 Happy New Year to you too!πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸŽΈ
  19. Thank you Phil, we appreciate your support. Yes, it is a crazy guitar and it kind of suits me. Life is about fun with kindness.
  20. Oh well done @randyh1953, you have proved that you are a real musician you said "The show must go on!" and you did it! One million cool points for you!😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎 Well done!πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸŽΈ
  21. Great photo @Eracer_Team-DougH. The fact that you said "only rhythm" is another measure of how far you have come along in your guitar journey. I have never played in a band and am now at the stage where I need to force myself to practice playing to drum beats and figure out what beats and how to lock in with them. Congratulations on all of your hard work in the past and present. I really admire people who play live. To everyone else who is reading this: The first step beginners can make towards playing live is to record themselves and evaluate their playing, the next step is to share your recordings on a safe platform. This forum is a great place to share because you will not get negative comments as they are not permitted by our wonderful moderators. πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
