Just started Session 4 today. I am pleased with my progress. Chords are a little hard for me but getting better every day. Wow some of them finger exercises are testing my hand to brain co-ordination. lol.

Thanks Diane. I was looking around for something to teach me Music Theory. Jules is ok with it but I am a complete novice.

Well we have done it. 30 minutes each on Session 1. Managed to do all 5 finger exercises and then started on the C and G7 chords. Chords are a little tricky and ended up getting sore fingers before we got a smooth transition and clear notes. But hey, it's a start and we will start all again tomorrow. Feeling good though.

I am going to celebrate Steve's Birthday tonight by getting the Jem out of it's case and starting Session 1.

Happy Birthday Steve. I will celebrate by starting L&M Guitar Course tonight.

I think I will just buy myself another guitar without a tremelo arm. I don't fancy taking my Jem to bits or drilling holes in it. You never know I may like the new one better and then I can perhaps sell my Jem. (later) I just opened the Jem case and it looked at me and I smiled at it and thought, No, I couldn't do that to you. I will keep you for later and buy you a little friend to keep you company.

Is it possible to lock the Edge Bridge on an Ibanez Jem so that it doesn't move at all whilst learning the guitar and then introduce it when I am ready. Or should I just leave it as it is.

Jules is going to start learning the guitar with me. Which guitar would you suggest for her. Make it electric to go along with my Ibanez Jem.

Is a Boss Eband JS10 the right thing to have so that my wife and myself can practice together or is there a better way.

My wife, Julie has just suggested that we should get another guitar and learn together. Maybe that's the way to go!

It's been 2 weeks now and all I have done is acquired "The Song Hits". I think I need a good kick up the **** to get me going. Neighbours are in all day at the moment and don't want to upset them with my noise. I think I could do with a guitar that is completely silent and then when I have learnt some good songs plug in the Jem and let them hear them. lol

Well done WIM. What a great achievement. Here is you finished the course and I am right at the beginning trying to pluck up the courage to get started.

Thanks everyone for the nice welcome backs. I will do my best to keep you all up to date on my progress. My Jem is tuned up and ready. I have just moved into a new house with all new neighbours so Its kind of like trying to build up the courage to get started. Maybe I will start whilst they are at work during the day.
