  1. I lo-o-o-ve my Fishman Loudbox Mini, paired with an L R Baggs Anthem pickup in my Guild dreadnought. It has a second channel for a vocal microphone. I'm a chemist, so this is very scientific data, Ron @matonanjin 😉

  3. So....based on the replies it seems Fishman is either the king of acoustic amps - or a lot of Gathering folks own stock in the company! Kidding aside - I took the time today to go by a couple of music stores here in town and used a couple of their guitars to play on the Fender Acoustasonic 40, a Boss Katana 50 (with the acoustic setting) and the Fishman Loudbox. I have to agree that the Fishman overall had the most "full" sound and if you are looking to invest in a dedicated acoustic amp it is probably the best choice. The Boss Katana was pretty close after a little tweaking of the EQ - and offers the flexibility of being able to support electrics. I'd have to rate the Fender last of the bunch - sounded "thin" to me. The next step is to take my guitar in with the K&K Pure mini and try them again. Tough decision - but enjoying the process!

  4. I was always somewhat under the impression, based on very unscientific data, that the Fishman amps were the "gold standard" for acoustic amps.

  5. Take a look at the Acoustic Chorus AC-60 made for acoustics with pups. I have a Taylor 712CE and it's a great pairing. Lotsa luck.

  7. Thanks for the feedback folks. Sounds like another excuse to head to the local music stores to play with different amps!

  8. Ditto on the Loudbox. I have a Marshall 50sd that I bought 12 years ago. No comparison and no comparison to any of my electric amps. The state of current technology in my opinion Greg

  9. The undisputed champ of acoustic amps is the Fishman Loudbox and the Loudbox Mini. They are made to work with acoustic pickup s like the piezzo, and sound much better than an electric guitar amp. If i needed an acoustic amp thats what id buy.Period.
