  2. Great advice, @Old Guy. As I have declared on here many times, I am a huge Santana fan. I have also become a huge PRS supporter. So it shouldn't take a great deal of logic to reason what my next guitar will be. The only question that should remain is why I haven't added a PRS Santana to my stable yet. (I don't have an answer for that). But earlier this year I was in Chicago. And, in addition to spoiling grand kids, part of my mission while there was to shop for a PRS Santana. I had a week there and visited just about every guitar store in the city. I knew ahead of time there was only one PRS Santana in the entire huge city of Chicago. But it was fun shopping and I reserved the last part of my trip to Chicago Music Exchange that had it listed on their website. I I knew I wouldn't be purchasing it. You are familiar with PRS and so understand the product line. It was a PRS "Private Stock" Santana so way over my budget! But I could play it and then wait for a "core" Santana to come in. Or have my local store order one. So the second to the last day I went to CME. And I tried it. And I was devastated. Just like you described the neck of the Richie Kotzen Telecaster, the neck was huge. The neck on the Santana felt like a tree trunk! Not that I would have bought that particular guitar anyway. But again, like you and the Richie Kotzen Telecaster, my heart was set on a PRS Santana. But I have now come to accept that's not going to happen.

  3. @NeilES335 @Wim VD1 Thank you for the responses! I think my current plan is to continue on with the course as normal and practice the song hits thoroughly, especially since I haven't started on chords in the Learn and Master Guitar course. Since the first batch of songs in the Hal Leonard book seem to be somewhat simple I'll use that as sight-reading practice.

  4. Thank you Danny, I have a sent @guitarben a pm saying that we can simplify the chord progression as I don't think he reads this thread. guitarben had said in a pm that he was going to do it bank holiday weekend, maybe his plans changed.

  7. Just ordered our tickets for Jack Pearson. Just be aware if you have to call ticketweb for help getting your tickets they will add an additional operator assist fee so try to order them on line if you can. Total was $42.73 for 2 tickets GA no reserved seating. Hopefully we can all go in as a group. See you then. GH

  8. @Mustafa I use the guitar as therapy. Whenever I am angry or feeling rebellious or frustrated I play music that suits my mood like "Born to be Wild" or if I am sad I play a sad song. It helps and afterwards I feel better. Have you ever heard a song by Billy Joel called "Baby Grand" it is about how his piano is always there for him. I think guitar is like that. Perhaps we should write a song about guitar like that.🙂

  9. Its tempting to work on several things at once. However at your stage I recommend you stick to mostly the course material and maybe Song Hits or the Hal Leonard book. That is plenty. S4 as I recall is a big session which could keep you occupied for a while (several weeks of maybe months) Dont overextend yourself. Keep it simple and you will come out ahead in the end.

  10. @costancr Yes, I often have the same feeling. While working on blues and rock resources these days, I would also like to be working on fingerstyle. And there are so many songs and solo's waiting for me to learn... The way I deal with this is by setting long time goals. After finishing L&M Guitar last year, I planned to take about a year to learn blues and rock. That should take me to August 2019. For fingerstyle, I plan about 18 months, so that will take me to the beginning of 2021. It's a rough plan, and I mostly underestimate the time required to learn something. But the long term perspective helps me focus and deal with the feeling that I should be working on all those resources at the same time. Wim.

  11. Great choice, Kevin. I had not heard this song for a long time. Very well played and produced. I like the stereo effects as well. Wim.

  12. Nice looking guitar and sounds good but didn’t care for the cons regarding the nut and tuners....finally looking for my first serious electric guitar and as usual too many choices.....been looking at epiphone lp custom pro which also appears to play well for the price.... imagine best way is to plug them in and play 🎸 any comments welcomed 🎼
