  2. The main reason for the build was to provide myself with the incentive to learn to play the guitar well enough that I would be willing to play in front of someone. I have been procrastinating for years. It seems to be working, I am actually putting in some serious practice time. Still a long from my goal.

  3. If there are no rests than you can let it go guilt free without any bother or worries! You can continue your interior battle when the rests show up later on. Oh, and I hate to be the bearer of bad new, the rests show up in the chord exercises too! But hears some good news, you don't have to mute the remaining time of an 8th note. Just move on, and with practice, slowly increasing your bpms, you got this! Have a great day.

  4. Wow! Thanks for the quick responses. It really bugs me, but I think I'll just try to let it go. It's really the only think keeping me from finishing session 3. Feeling much better! Thanks to all for the help.

  6. Although I haven't been playing guitar for the last couple of years I knew that if I ever travelled to Nashville I would have to visit that holy grail of guitar shops... Gruhn Guitars. Well this week I was in Nashville for a convention and made the trek to Gruhn's shop. Well not only did I get to have a sit down with George Gruhn himself and meet Greg Voros but guess who walked into the shop... Vince Gill. Well what a gentleman he is... and just a regular guy. You would never know he was a country music star and a member of the Eagles. Not only did he sign a Gruhn's t-shirt for me (as did George) but he also played guitar for me. I have been looking for something to inspire me to reconnect with my guitars. Perhaps even return to my Learn and Master guitar course (I stopped at session 17... it was like I walked into a wall at no.17!) Well my visit to Gruhn's may just be the inspiration I was looking for. I have attached a photo of Vince playing for George and myself.

  7. That is a very nice build you have created, Bob. I have been sitting on the fence with regard to a build but now both you and the Old Guy have really made me interested enough to start looking. I see that Solo has a store near the airport (Pearson) so I may need to visit. I would love to find a 1 3/4" neck with a SH mahogany body. The web site seems vague on the pick ups, so I will need more information. Maybe you could help me with that? I think it is fantastic that you have started this journey at age 71. 8. Hi @Slug Peter; Welcome back too... I am curious (as moderator) about your statement "couldn't find the Forum etc. " There are plenty of references on the "old" Learn and Master Guitar (Legacy Learning Systems) Student Forum about our move here in Jan 2018. Did you not look there first or was their site down or ? Of course we'd love to have all our "old " members back, so any way we can facilitate that would be a help. You can send me a Personal Message if you prefer. Regards; NeilES335 - Moderator

I am also learning to use my new Scarlett Focusrite with a Boss Ve2 Vocal Harmonist pedal. This is "Purple Rain" by Prince. RIP Prince ?

  10. I think this one meets the criteria since it talks about "a long cold lonely winter". I can relate to that, given the cold weather we had last week here in the Midwest.
