  3. I'd wait until you get the guitar. Sometimes when Gibson sells models with no pick guard installed they include one in the case.

  4. Awesome Grog! To me, an LP Traditional is THE Les Paul and all the other models are either stripped down or pimped up variants. I was really happy with the '57 Classics/C+ in mine but I got a set of Sheptone Tribute and AB pickups with aged covers planning to put them in another guitar but decided they'd look great in my Trad. Once they were in I had to add a Cremetone aged bridge and stop bar and foil top knobs to tie it all together, and now I call it my "Poor Man's '59". If you wanted to go that route, you'd have yourself a Peter Green Tribute. \m/

  6. Hi Steve, First, thanks to everyone for their response to my questions. I am working my way through the Learn and Master course, and have been for the past 12 months or so. I'm on lesson 9. I am not a fast learner by any means, but I'm in no hurry either. I play/practice every day, its a great hobby and relaxes me after work. By the way, thanks for a great course! While I may never master the guitar, I am having a blast trying to. I was looking for something to supplement that course with actual songs, but didn't want a book that simply taught strumming to accompany vocals with a few licks thrown in. Instrumentals is what we called them when I was young, but then we didn't have tabs either. I primarily flat pick fiddle tunes, and I like old timey/mountain music AKA Doc Watson, but I like most guitar music except metal (never got into hard rock). I've worked my way through the first two volumes of flatpick.com's essentials course and I'm working on volume three. I go back and forth between the two courses. I like pop/rock & roll from the 50s, 60s and early 70s both acoustic and electric. I'm not sure of any music I don't like except for hard rock/metal and I even like some of that. Thank you for responding, and please let me know if you think the pop songs or even the rock songs would be good.

  13. Thank you for posting this tutorial Randy. For me, this Paul Gilbert lesson was 17 minutes well spent. I'm going to spend some time looking for more lessons from him. He makes it look so easy and fun doesn't he?
